Kathy Hauckol was sworn in today to become the first woman governor of New York State.
Reuters reported that Hokol, 63, promised to change the political climate in the state and work to restore New Yorkers' confidence in their government.
Hauckol of the Democratic Party took office in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal that prompted her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, to resign, thus becoming the 57th governor of the US state.
