About an exciting and, above all, funny day.

Possenhofen - The playful use of the radio is part of the Pöckinger holiday program, to which the DLRG has invited children and adolescents aged eight to 15 years.

Ten came to the agenda on Monday.

By the way, they were also allowed to go out on the lake.

"Hello, can you understand us?" It sounds loudly from the radio, in front of which Emma (8), Helena (9) and Isabella (8) are writhing with laughter. The girls crouch in the crew room of the DLRG guard station in Possenhofen. They can hardly find the air to answer the question that Constantin and Laurenz asked them. The two ten-year-olds made contact with the girls by radio from the balcony of the ward. The children quickly made friends with the operation of the handy devices. That’s why there’s no more fun. It's getting serious: the boys instruct the girls how to arrange geometric shapes cut out of cardboard in front of them. “Form a square out of the triangles” is the first task. “Now place the narrow rectangle on the top right on edge on the square.Place the wide rectangle across the square. And move the small square to the narrow rectangle.

Did the communication work?

Did the girls correctly follow the boys' instructions?

Alexander Rusche, chairman of the DLRG youth team, is convinced: In fact, what the girls put together on the table in front of them corresponds exactly to the model that Constantin and Laurenz presented on the balcony.

Pass an exam.

While the five are practicing sparks in the guard station, the other half is on the lake with the rescue boat. After a good half an hour, the change takes place. And at the end of the day, everyone receives a first aid briefing. The children were allowed to learn how King Ludwig could have been saved from drowning in the lake today. Because the holiday day “With Empress Sisi at the lake” has a historical motto. 20 children took part in the premiere. For everyone, the day started at 9 a.m. with introductory games. Then an “imperial” scavenger hunt in the Paradies recreation area was on the program. The children had to guess which person was shown in a photo (it was Empress Sisi). And which chapel can be seen from the pier of the DLRG station on the east bank of the lake (the votive chapel in the Berg Castle Park). It was also important to know how many towers the castle in Possenhofen has (four).

Constantin and Laurenz liked the scavenger hunt best. The girls couldn't name a favorite program. “We liked everything,” they answer in a good mood. DLRG youth chairman Rusche was already satisfied with the first round. "Many have asked how you can become a member of us," he reports. Who actually implements his interest remains to be seen: "After each holiday program, one or two young people came to the DLRG, especially from the ranks of those who took part in swimming training."
