A traffic accident occurred in Wan Chai. At about 5:15 this (24th) afternoon, a male pedestrian was hit by a tram at the junction of Fleming Road and Johnston Road.
On-site news once stated that the victim was involved in the underside of the tram. Fortunately, rescuers arrived at the scene and found that the injured had injured his feet and was not trapped, so he was sent to hospital for treatment.
Affected by the accident, tram services were blocked, and some traffic lanes on Johnston Road towards Causeway Bay and near Fleming Road were once closed.
After that, the traffic resumed to normal one after another.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The tram company responded to "Hong Kong 01" stating that at the time of the incident, an eastbound tram of No. 111 towards Causeway Bay Terminus was passing through Fleming Road, Wan Chai. A male pedestrian suddenly rushed out of the road at a non-pedestrian crossing and was hit by the tram.
After stopping the car, the captain got off the car to learn about the passer-by and immediately called the police.
According to preliminary information, the male passerby remained awake after being hit by a tram and was sent to hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, and the tram service returned to normal at about 5:47 pm.
