Oleg Khramov, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, warned of the risks posed by the policies pursued by the United States and other Western countries in the field of artificial intelligence development.
"The field of artificial intelligence will inevitably turn into a field for military and political confrontation, and not only for scientific and technical competition," Interfax news agency quoted Kramov as saying today during the Army 2021 Military-Technical Forum in the outskirts of Moscow.
Khramov added: "Developed countries, led by the United States and other countries among its closest allies, are aggressively promoting and on various international platforms for the benefit of the approaches to them in crystallizing the foundations for developing artificial intelligence systems and determining their application in various fields."
Khramov pointed out that it is obvious that the countries that succeeded in crystallizing these rules and standards and trying to establish them at the international level seek to obtain new possibilities in global hegemony in light of the changing historical reality, pointing to the existence of the risk of manipulating the performance standards of the mentioned systems and standards of their reliability and safety, which would lead To allow the exploitation of new technologies to achieve immediate political and economic goals.
The Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council concluded by saying, "All of this threatens the national security of Russia and dictates the need to respond to this matter in an appropriate manner."
