Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stressed that the occurrence of large quantities of weapons in the hands of "Taliban" militants as a result of the recent developments in Afghanistan constitutes the most important threat.
Russia Today website quoted Shoigu as saying today that the first and most important threat is the fall of huge quantities of weapons into the hands of Taliban militants, noting that these weapons include more than 100 pieces of man-portable air defense systems and this matter cannot be controlled by anyone.
On the 17th of this month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that the manner of NATO's withdrawal, especially the United States of America, from Afghanistan led to the collapse of the situation in this country, in which the developments of events accelerated with the entry of the Taliban movement, the capital, Kabul, and its control over most government institutions.
