The decorator Jacques Garcia bought

the Château du Champ de Bataille

in the Eure in 1992 and made it the largest private garden in Europe from scratch.

With its ponds and fountains, its boxwood laces and groves, the park connects the atmospheres with virtuosity during a long and beautiful walk.

Marriage of a French garden plan imagined by André Le Nôtre for the place and the contemporary desires of Jacques Garcia, the gardens of the Battlefield are spectacular.

came straight out, in 2016, from the imagination of Alexander Grivko, a world-renowned Russian landscape designer.

Two kilometers of trails, with the Channel in focus, run between seven spaces.

Downstream and upstream gardens, avatar garden, Zen garden, all are more avant-garde than the others, planted with 150,000 plants from all over Europe.

The singularity

A dreamlike atmosphere that seems to echo the famous novel by Lewis Carroll.

Highlight of the show: the garden of emotions where giant faces, sculptures by Samuel Salcedo, lie on the ground, between the bushes.

Each one expresses a distinct emotion and invites introspection.

Jean-Marc de Pas is a sculptor gardener.

For more than forty years, he has shaped his immense family garden in his image to make it a highly poetic place.

In the 7-hectare park of the

Château de Bois-Guilbert, in Seine-Maritime,

where his ancestors planted the first trees in the 17th century, the intimate spaces open out onto large expanses.

The singularity

The garden and the sculptures, more than seventy, literally mingle, becoming one.

A vault eight hundred meters long is made up of 1,600 trees of twelve different species.

The pony club, one of the first in Europe, created by the owner's father, is still in operation, adjoining the garden.

Modeling and stone cutting courses are regularly organized in Jean-Marc de Pas's workshop.
