The sculptor Mason formulated the rope of her sculptural work entitled “Waiting” in an expressive style that embodies a human condition associated with the symbolism of the name of the work for a person whose features are mixed between male and female and approaches by wrapping around himself and rooting him in the ground to form a perennial tree that does not budge from its place waiting for the future.
The work in which the sculptor Maysoon participated in the Syrian collective art exhibition in Ukraine came in a small size, with a height of 23 cm, in rust-colored polyester, in shades of brown, and smoothly, expressing the idea of waiting and its many implications.
Regarding her participation in the exhibition, the sculptor Maysoun said in a statement to SANA: “Within the difficult conditions experienced by every Syrian person in general, and the artist in particular, who preferred to stay and adhere to his homeland, his memories and his artistic work despite all the suffering due to the unjust siege on Syria, this exhibition comes as an important outlet to support the Syrian artist and to strengthen ties between Syria and Ukraine, especially since art is the highest state we seek and reach.”
It is noteworthy that the exhibition is being held as part of a cultural event held by the Syrian Honorary Consulate in the capital, Kiev, in cooperation with the leadership of the Syrian community in Ukraine and under the supervision of the sculptor Afif Agha, on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Syrian Arab Army.
