On some points the Taliban have a certain credibility - to restore order, to come to terms with a few minorities, to re-establish some form of administration.

They've been talking about this for years.

Which does not mean that they will get there, because they face immense challenges.

They are ready to make compromises in order to gain access to central bank funds from the international community.
