After the show of force on Monday and in the event of the eventual ignorance of the judicial prohibition to carry out union activities, the former secretary general of the UOCRA La Plata, Juan Pablo "Pata" Medina, must
appear before the federal courts
to explain his alleged disrespect.
48 hours ago, Medina held a
massive event in
front of the former UOCRA headquarters in La Plata.
He argued that it was a political rally called by the "January 22" group of the Frente de Todos.
Non-union content.
Through that loophole, he tries to avoid a possible punishment, in case of having ignored the order.
That issue must be resolved at the hearing, via zoom, this Thursday.
The Federal Criminal Court No. 2 of the provincial capital, in charge of the case for
illicit association, aggravated coercion and repeated extortion
, summoned him as an emergency.
During the declaration, the union member will request the
lifting of the restriction
to act in the union's activities.
Medina assures that the act had a political tone and that it was not a union activity.

Medina's lawyer, César Albarracín, explained to
Clarín
that there are no reasons to maintain the measure.
"It is a disqualification penalty in disguise. Similar restrictions are not applied to any defendant," says the defender.
Just in case, he clarifies that the petition is prior to the Court's request for explanations for Monday's act.
Medina was imprisoned for 2 years and two months, among other causes for aggravated coercion processed in the provincial courts.
For that crime he
was dismissed
.
There are still the files initiated by the federal judge of Quilmes, Luis Armella, who later decided to transfer it to Court No. 2.
Armella had detained him in September 2017, in a series of operations carried out by the Prefecture.
He regained his freedom in February of this year.
However, when he was released, the Justice imposed a requirement not to participate in union activities.
Even so, the "Pata" defied the scope of the imposition and
organized the street assembly
under the pretext of a political meeting organized by a party group, managed precisely by his family.
"It was on the public highway (on avenue 44), where the UOCRA headquarters no longer functioned, and the mobilization had a political character," insists Albarracín.
It is a stubbornness of very narrow limits.
Subject to interpretation.
"What is not prohibited is allowed", would be the most benevolent judgment.
It will be necessary to see if the Justice thinks with the same tone.
The event was six blocks from the Government and seven from the courts.
Proximity also represents a symbol of purported power.
Once, the "Pata" Medina had it.
Some, including the courts, consider that in excess.
