A driver was indicted for "
manslaughter aggravated by two circumstances (...), the hit-and-run and the manifest state of drunkenness
", after having mown two cyclists, one of whom died, near 'Orleans, the prosecutor's office announced on Wednesday August 25.
The 30-year-old driver was taken into custody, the same source said.

The facts took place during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Saint-Denis-en-Val (Loiret) when two cyclists, a young man of French nationality aged 26 and a young woman of 24, of Dutch origin, were "
hit by a car which then fled
".
The young man was slightly injured but the young woman was declared "
brain dead
" Tuesday by doctors.
The driver was arrested Sunday afternoon at his home and placed in police custody, according to the press release.
