Othman Nasrou: "Give Trappes another future"

2021-08-25T13:18:46.238Z

INTERVIEW - The vice-president of the Île-de-France region is a candidate for the municipal by-election for the city of Trappes next October.

Othman Nasrou, vice-president of the Île-de-France region and close to Valérie Pécresse (Libres!) Announces that he will be a candidate for the municipal by-election which will take place in October in the city of Trappes.

He denounces the “patronage” of his opponent, the outgoing Ali Rabeh, member of Génération.s, the party of Benoît Hamon.

LE FIGARO.- The election of Ali Rabeh was definitively canceled by the Council of State for having "promoted his candidacy between the two rounds".

A partial will take place in October.

Will you be a candidate?

Othman NASROU.-

Yes, I will be a candidate and I call on all the republican forces to block the road to Ali Rabeh.

I want to build a local union team by bringing together the Republican left and right.

My main partner is also Mustapha Larbaoui, an associative actor in the city who is a man of the left.

How could the poll have gone so badly in 2020?

Ali Rabeh broke all the rules of election financing, which says a lot about his practice.

Between the two rounds, he distributed masks, packets of pasta and even board games bearing his image: this is called patronage and has been customary for several years.

Without all the devious means he has put in place, we would have won the election.

These are practices that have no right of the city.

Forty city executives have also left the workforce because of this climate of brutality and excessive politicization.

What themes do you plan to campaign on?

My project is to give Trappes another future.

The inhabitants of the city want to live in the Republic, their problem is elected officials who do not promote social diversity, do not diversify businesses and do not provide security.

I have been fighting for years for a project that pulls people up, where young people are offered jobs and training, where excellence is not a taboo word and where everyone has the right to security.

Urban violence is particularly violent in your city.

What do you propose to remedy this?

Trappes faces the same challenges as many other cities.

Security is a national issue.

What I am defending is strengthening the municipal police.

Today, at 5 p.m., there are no more staff mobilized and the city has never asked for help on these subjects.

We absolutely have to fix it.

About thirty elected Yvelines have said they are ready to welcome Afghan refugees.

Are you in favor of it?

Nationally, I agree that we welcome the Afghans who have helped France.

At the local level, we have our difficulties, our challenges and there is no reason why it should always be Trappes where we concentrate the difficulties.

I am therefore rather against it.
