A German geologist who worked with Adolf Eichmann in Argentina helped the institution capture the senior Nazi - this was revealed in the German media, 32 years after his death.
The geologist, Gerhard Kalmer, was photographed next to Eichmann in the early 1950s with other workers at the construction company Capri, which employed many members of the Nazi regime after its fall.
Although Eichmann tried to hide his identity and lived as Ricardo Clement in Argentina, Kalmar recognized him.
According to Dr. Spiegel, he reported this to authorities in West Germany, but these did nothing with the information.
Upon his return to Germany, he shared the identity of his former colleague with a close friend - a priest who had served in the German army.
He showed him their joint photo and gave him the address where Eichmann lived in Argentina.
From the same pastor, the information passed to the bishop, who shared it with Fritz Baor - a Jewish German prosecutor who conducted a manhunt for Eichmann.
Eichmann, one of the architects of the final solution, was captured by the United States military at the end of World War II, but he managed to escape a prison camp in 1946 and settled under a false identity in Argentina.

Baor, who returned to Germany after World War II, was the only one to do justice to Eichmann. Even before receiving the information from Kalmar, the Jewish prosecutor was able to establish the fact that Eichmann was hiding in Argentina thanks to Luther Herman, a German Jew who moved to Argentina.
His daughter went on a date with Eichmann's son, who was proud of his father's true identity. This information led to the Mossad's attempt to capture Eichmann in 1957, but the operation was unsuccessful.
Baor, armed with the incriminating information, arrived in Israel and met with Mossad chief Issar Harel to give him Kalmar's exposure. The establishment in Israel was persuaded, and the dramatic information helped the institution eventually capture Eichmann in Argentina in May 1960. After a complicated and complex operation, he Eichmann entered Israel and was hanged in 1962 after being convicted of crimes against the Jewish people, crimes against humanity and other crimes.
Kalmar asked Baor not to reveal where the information that led to the capture of Eichmann came from, and the Jewish prosecutor kept his word.
The revelation of his identity eventually came from the family of the German geologist, and his story was first published on Friday in the Zidowitsch Zeitung newspaper.
