Sofia of Sweden is a princess through and through: noble dresses, elegant poses and a skilfully charming demeanor.

But is she breaking with it now?

Drottingholm Palace - With her royal appearance, you can almost forget that Princess Sofia is actually a completely normal woman.

The 36-year-old had a life before she married Prince Carl Philip - and that was pretty wild.

The pictures of her time as a bikini model have become legendary in Sweden.

You could see the princess on reality TV shows and regularly at festivals.

Sofia of Sweden: When baptized, tattoo flashes from the past

A stark contrast to the loving wife and today's mother of three sons, who was back to work just four weeks after the birth of her youngest child.

Mostly Sofia of Sweden can hide the memories of her past well.

But now and then she doesn't succeed either: For example at her wedding, when you could see the tattooed sun on her neck very well.

Or most recently at the christening of the youngest son, Prince Julian, at Drottingham Palace.

Princess Sofia: That's what her ankle tattoo means

When the royal family took a few steps in front of the photographer, you could see a small lettering on the inside of Sofia's ankle, saying “EMLS”.

The tattoo shows the family bond of the Swedish princess.

Because, according to

the lettering stands

for the initials of her family: father Erik, mother Marie and the two sisters Lina and Sara.

Will the initials of her husband and children be added soon?

Probably not, because since Sofia has been on the side of Prince Carl Philip on behalf of the Swedish crown, no new tattoo of the beautiful princess has been reported.
