The situation is coming to a head: parking spaces are no longer available in some places.

Werbekreis and LAW are now sounding the alarm.

You are asking for a great solution.

They also have ideas.

Wolfratshausen - Two associations, one opinion: A great solution is needed to counter the shortage of parking spaces.

This is emphasized by Ernst Gröbmair, who has been on the board of the Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen (LAW) association for a few weeks, and Hans-Joachim Kunstmann, head of the Wolfratshausen advertising group, in an interview with our newspaper.

“We need parking spaces close to the city center - and that actually already yesterday,” says Gröbmair.

The situation is coming to a head

But it doesn't look like that at the moment.

On the contrary: the parking situation in Loisachstadt could become even more tense than it already is.

As reported, parking spaces are no longer available at the so-called Kraft-Areal.

The Park & Ride spaces of Deutsche Bahn are chargeable.

In the course of upgrading the old town, the parking spaces on Marktstrasse could also be closed.

With the redesign of the Loisach-Westufer, which has long been required by the LAW, another 28 parking spaces would disappear.

“I lack a sober and realistic view of the situation,” says Kunstmann. Which means: There are already too few parking spaces and there are fewer and fewer. The Werbekreis boss hopes that there will be movement in the parking space debate. “There's no big, bold approach to the problem,” he says. But that is necessary: “It takes 100 spaces to create replacements for those that are no longer available.” In his opinion, the planned increase in the parking lot on Paradiesweg, which is currently dormant due to a resident complaint, is “just a drop in” the hot stone. ”There are 51 parking spaces there at the moment, according to current plans there should be 106.

If you want to earn something, you have to invest something beforehand.

If we take a lot of money into our hands now, it will flow back in the coming years through more visitors to the city.

Hans-Joachim Kunstmann, head of the advertising group for the shopping city

Such steps are too small for the two club bosses. “It makes more sense to invest in one large project than in many small ones,” says real estate agent Gröbmair. In their opinion, either a parking garage close to the city center is possible - “but that would probably not be so visually attractive,” says Kunstmann - or the preferred solution of the club bosses: an underground car park. Again and again there have been reservations about this in the past. "But statements that this is not possible because of the groundwater, I find very strange," says Gröbmair. Because at several construction sites in the vicinity of Marktstrasse, construction is currently underway - on the Kraft site next to the train station, there is even a two-story construction. “This has been technically possible for a long time,” explains Kunstmann. In addition, the prospect of funding for urban development measures is currently very good.“Maybe this is a unique opportunity,” says Gröbmair. Kunstmann adds: “If you want to earn something, you have to invest something beforehand. If we take a lot of money into our hands now, it will flow back in the coming years through more visitors to the city. "

Both welcome the redesign plans - although parking spaces are to be deleted

The two are hoping for the same effect from the redesign of the old town.

According to the current state of affairs (with a few exceptions) the car spaces are to disappear from Marktstrasse.

The entrepreneurs expect this to create a more inviting atmosphere.

“We'll have a lot more pedestrians on the wide sidewalks, people lingering in cafes instead of cars on the side of the road.

We can create a really nice flair in Wolfratshausen, ”enthuses Gröbmair about the first drafts.

After the fiery plea for parking spaces close to the city center, that sounds a bit paradoxical - "but it is not," explains Kunstmann.

The two approaches should complement each other: "We create quality of stay, what some demand and parking spaces what others demand", summarizes Gröbmair.

“You could cut this Gordian knot,” says Kunstmann with conviction.

In the near future, as reported, the city council will again deal with the endless topic of parking spaces.

Then an update of the parking space concept should be on the table - and perhaps a solution.
