A Form 4 boy who was suspected of having a heart attack suddenly fainted during physical education at school in March of the previous year and was sent to hospital for emergency treatment.

The Coroner's Court today (25th) inquired on the cause of his death. The boy’s mother confessed that she had mentioned in her son’s "School Children’s Health Status Questionnaire" that her son had a heart problem and was unable to exercise vigorously, but did not It is clear why his son has been taking physical education classes and even participated in the 400-meter running at the sports meeting.

The mother also mentioned that because she did not know how to use traditional Chinese characters, she read out all the health questionnaires submitted by her son to the school, and the son filled in and signed it on her behalf.

The deceased Xiao Yetao, (19 years old, Form 4 student), was jogging at the Sports Hall in Shing Mun Valley Park on March 18 of the previous year. After a few minutes, Xiao felt unwell and fainted and was sent to hospital for emergency treatment.

The coroner He Junyao and five jurors dealt with it. It is expected that it will take 5 days of inquiries. The Lu Mingcai Middle School where Xiao Sheng attended was listed as the interested party and represented by the barrister Tan Junjie.

Xiao fainted during PE class in 2018

Xiao’s mother, Lin Meijin, confessed that Xiao was born in Fujian in 2000. After she divorced her husband, Xiao came to Hong Kong in June 2017 and attended Form Three at Lu Mingcai Middle School.

She pointed out that Xiao’s body had always been very good. Until June 2018, Xiao fell to the ground during physical education classes at school and was sent to the hospital. He stayed in Renji Hospital for 3 days. Jiexin sent Xiao to a private hospital for a detailed examination and prescribed a lot of medicine to Xiao.

Xiao's mother said that because her Cantonese is not very good, she does not know the specific uses of these drugs.

During Xiao's hospitalization, the principal of the school Xiao attended also visited the hospital.

Xiao fills out the health questionnaire by himself

At the beginning of the new school year when Xiao Sheng was in Secondary Four, the school once distributed a questionnaire on the health of the children. Xiao filled out the form by himself, tick it out in the column of whether he had gone to the hospital for surgery, and had it signed by his stepfather.

Later, the school knew that Xiao had fainted and was sent to the hospital during class, so he asked Xiao to add further.

In the supplementary investigation, it was stated that Xiao had congenital heart disease, some breathing difficulties, heart pain and other problems, and was unable to do strenuous exercise.

In November 2018, Xiao fainted again during class and needed Xiao's mother to take him home to rest, but did not go to the hospital for examination.

I didn't feel my son was unwell in the morning

Xiao's mother continued that her son did not feel any discomfort on the morning of the incident.

She reminded Xiao to take the medicine and saw him carrying the medicine, but did not see Xiao taking it in person.

When approaching 11 o'clock in the morning, she received a notice from the school that her son was taken to the hospital.

When she rushed to the hospital, Xiao Zheng was rescued.

Soon, the hospital issued a critical illness notice, and when his stepfather arrived, Xiao was declared dead.

I do not know who participated in the 400-meter race
