In the local training camp in Lattakia, the Syrian Olympic football team continues its preparations for the qualifiers for the U-23 Asian Cup, which will be held in the Uzbek capital Tashkent next year.
The camp, which was launched recently and will continue until the 31st of this month, will witness intensive training sessions under the supervision of coach Raafat Muhammad at the Sports City Stadium.
Our team is scheduled to support its local preparations with an external training camp in Jordan, which begins early next month and will last for eight days, during which it will meet with its Jordanian counterpart in two friendly matches.
The qualifiers were drawn for our team in the first group along with the teams of Qatar, Yemen and Sri Lanka, whose matches will be held in Doha, according to a single-stage grouping system, between the 23rd and 30th of next October.
According to the qualifying system, the 11 group winners, in addition to the four best second-placed teams, in addition to the host Uzbekistan, qualify.
Our team had recently conducted a training camp in Lebanon in preparation for the qualifiers, during which it met its Lebanese counterpart in two friendly matches, tied in the first with two goals, and won in the second by three goals to one.
