The Johanniter day care center in Allershausen has existed for 25 years - a valuable facility for families.

Allershausen

- The Johanniter day care center has become an integral part of the Allershausen community.

For 25 years now, the facility has been an important support for parents in order to get family and work under one roof.

That was now celebrated with all the after-school children and the team.

Eager children

The motto of the 25th anniversary celebration was "The greatest Hort".

A dance to the song "The greatest Show" from the musical "Greatest Showman" was rehearsed.

“The children rehearsed with us for weeks for this performance.

I'm very proud of the result, ”reports after-school care center manager Johanna Scherupp.

"16 after-school children took part in the dance group and trained three times a week for the performance." Other children would have made the anniversary sign or baked muffins in the Johanniter colors red and blue.

"So every child contributed their part to the celebrations and got involved," said Scherupp.

Fourth graders celebrated

The celebrations started with a speech to the children. Facility management Scherupp told how long the daycare center had been around and that, for example, the first daycare children from back then are now 30 years old. After that, the fourth graders were said goodbye. Everyone received a present and the other children thundered farewell applause. Then it was time for the dance performance "The greatest Hort". A colorful dance in which all those present were entertained with ribbons, cylinders and a big confetti bang at the end. Afterwards, each after-school child received a Johanniter drinking bottle for the anniversary.

After the official part of the festival, the children could eat themselves at the buffet provided by their parents, or they could try their luck at throwing cans, where there were small prizes to be won.

Face painting was also offered so that the children could turn into a magical fairy or a grinning joker, for example.

With music, delicious food and a good mood, the facility team ended the afternoon together with the children.

Unfortunately, the anniversary summer festival had to take place without the parents due to the corona.

History of the hoard

The after-school care center was opened in 1996 under the sponsorship of Johanniter Oberbayern. Due to popular demand, the facility was expanded from one group to two in 2004. Today 54 children between the ages of six and twelve can be looked after after school in the house. Over the past 25 years, the after-school care center has grown steadily. Projects, working groups, musicals and theater have become an integral part of the educational work alongside the daily homework supervision. A family atmosphere is very important to Johanna Scherupp's team. The children should feel comfortable and organize their everyday lives independently in a trusting environment. A varied program is also organized for the children during the holidays. "Trips to the cinema, the forest,The game park or indoor playground are always great fun for the children and our three-day holiday camps, for example on an adventure farm in Austria, are a highlight for all after-school children, ”reports facility manager Johanna Scherupp.
