The number of job seekers in category A (without activity, whole of France excluding Mayotte) fell again in July, decreasing by 1.6% compared to June, with 3.596 million people registered last month, or 60,100 in less, according to Labor Ministry figures released Wednesday.

Compared with July 2020, the number of these category A job seekers fell by 11.1%, indicates the statistics directorate of the ministry (Dares).
In June, the number of Category A job seekers fell by 73,300, following a drop of 134,100 in May.
Including those registered in reduced activity (categories B and C), the number of job seekers recorded in July a "
significant decrease
" of 0.7% (-39,500 registered) compared to June and stands at 5.927 million of people, specifies the Dares.
End of contract
July was marked by a “
new increase
” in job seekers in categories B and C, with 20,600 more registered with Pôle Emploi, an increase of 0.9%.
For categories A, B and C, entries to Pôle emploi climbed 3.7% in July, with 539,800 new registrants, against 520,700 in June, according to statistics from the Dares.
This increase in entries was fueled "
mainly
" by "end
of contract and returns of inactivity
", notes the ministry.
