The treasure on which the Taliban sit, namely strategic minerals for the whole world.


In 2010, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) revealed the existence of mineral, oil and gas resources in the Afghan underground to a value exceeding 1000 billion dollars.

The valuation, to be taken with caution, is equivalent to 50 times the GDP of this mountainous country where copper, iron, bauxite, chromium, mercury, gold, precious stones, lead, rare earths, beryllium, graphite, cobalt, petroleum or even gas.

An Eldorado.

Its enormous reserves could transform Afghanistan into "Saudi Arabia of lithium", affirmed in 2012 an internal note of the American ministry of Defense.
