There was a great atmosphere at the topping-out ceremony for the Kranzberg multi-generation house. No wonder: it was the afternoon of good news.

There was a great atmosphere at the topping-out ceremony for the Kranzberg multi-generation house.

No wonder: it was the afternoon of good news.

Kranzberg

- At the topping-out ceremony for the multigenerational house in Kranzberg, architect Johannes Dantele assured the guests that - regardless of Corona or Covid-19 - the essential fixed dates have been met so far, that the move-in date will also be met and that the costs will be paid at the age of 6 .7 million euros in comparison to the cost calculation of 2019 “a precision landing”. For the traditional Hebweih festival, which is intended to express appreciation and thanks from the builder to the construction workers, they have chosen “the most beautiful day of the week in terms of weather,” said Kranzberg's mayor Hermann Hammerl on that Wednesday when not only the sun shines over the two main and the two outbuildings, but also the topping-out crown adorned with ribbons hovered over the heads of those present.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 3, 2020

Hammerl looks back on the history that began in May 2017 with the application for municipal housing in the municipal council.

The competition procedure followed, at the end of which the Dantele architectural office was commissioned.

In July 2019, the constitutional resolution for the development plan was passed, and the official groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 3, 2020.

And now the topping-out ceremony, at which junior boss and project manager Martin Scheibe from the timber construction company IHR Tischler climbed the scaffolding, shouted the topping-out speech and showed himself to be safe to drink.

21 residential units of different sizes are being built in two houses near the Kranzberger See, plus a community house and a functional building.

As Hammerl said, the measure will be funded with three million euros from the Free State, and the municipality has taken out four million euros as a loan that will run for 30 years.

That is how long the buildings have to remain in the possession of the municipality at least as municipal housing and they also have to “pay for themselves”, according to Hammerl.

The project is a "plus point" in the search for employees for the community - for example kindergarten staff - as living space can also be made available here.

Just one percent above the cost estimate

Architect Johannes Dantele said that despite extreme delivery difficulties for materials and a summer that was not good for a timber construction because it was very humid, they were still on schedule, and that despite enormous cost increases, the calculation for 2019 was based on the current figure of 6.7 million euros The state of affairs only surpassed by one percent. With the construction of the two wooden houses, the municipality of Kranzberg made a "forward-looking and responsible decision" and set an example against climate change. Leberkäse, potato salad and pretzels tasted even better.
