Of all the possibilities in the world, the singer's first international collaboration is with the crazy Russian band Little Big • "It's the most exciting and ridiculous thing there is in the world," she says.

Say you should not meet your heroes.

The distance between the character you have built in your head and the person he is in reality can hardly help but disappoint, and sometimes it is better to keep our objects of admiration as far away as possible.

But Neta Barzilai not only decided to meet her idols - she also decided to work with them on a joint creation.

What may sound like a recipe for disaster on paper has become "Mustache", Little Big's new single - the subversive Russian band, known for its disturbing songs and music videos.

The song features Neta Barzilai and a magnificent mustache for the first time (and possibly not the last).

"I discovered them on Facebook about seven years ago," says the singer.

"I remember seeing them and being in the market. I started exploring and getting into this pool deeper and deeper, and I discovered a world of visual and musical references that greatly influenced me. It's very noticeable in my work. In my clip for 'Bassa Sabba' I took their clip as a reference. This visual , the colors".

How did the connection between you two come about?

"I became an instant fan at levels. I would write to their director: 'You have to make me a video, I'm a huge fan.'

They just do not do things outside the collective.

Then we performed before them in Ukraine in 2019 at an event called the Atlas Festival.

After them appeared the Black Eyed Peas, it was a big festival.

I was very excited to meet them.

That's how we got to know each other. "

From here they started rolling out an idea of working together - which is not really easy, given the fact that Little Big friends are not really strong in English.

"Our communication was at the level where they write 'Okay, Wei Want Kulab (Collaborate)', and I answer them with a full smiley," she says. Feminine empowerment. It was filmed in Russia, but if you thought the comedic atmosphere of the video was the tone that dominated the set - right for you, and for Barzilai, a surprise.

"Before I got to Russia we were canceled full of flights. It was not clear if we would make it. When I got there I got a caravan, and their team did me hair, makeup, everything in their styling. It's the most beautiful thing I've seen in my life. It was a seminar to see them.

"People are sure there are so many laughs about a set like this, but the thing is, they're so professional that there was silence on the set all the time. They take almost irrationally seriously what they're doing. "And every detail in the frame matters. As soon as we finished we ran to catch a flight, and I got on the plane in the fur suit in the clip. After we finished I lay in bed and said 'Neta, you dreamed it and it happens. It's the most exciting and ridiculous thing in the world'."
