The video went viral and the scandal transcended the borders of Mexico.

It represents a discussion that is taking place in different parts of the world regarding

inclusive language

and the way in which many young people are demanding to be

recognized

by the rest.

It was a

fight in the middle of a virtual class

in which

Andrea Escamilla exploded against another student.

Before the commotion, his release came.

The images show

a non-binary student

who

becomes

enraged in the middle of a virtual class when he hears that his partner

Max Carvajal called her "partner" and not "partner".

In crisis, Andrea began to cry.

Then, the short video was broadcast on social networks and

the debate was opened with criticism, jokes and bullying, but also with opinions from other students who were in the class.

Escamilla spoke with the site Cultura Colectiva, where he explained that

he identifies as a trigene, an identity that is characterized by fluctuating between different genders

, depending on the situation, because there are brief occasions in which he identifies with the pronouns

"elle" and "he" .

"I had a mental breakdown at the time."

In turn, he described that the fight took place on Monday, August 23, in his Logistics Networks class and gave his version of events.

He said that in the virtual class he asked for an extension to deliver a job

because he had had a very strong allergic reaction on the weekend after receiving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine against covid-19.

According to his version, his teacher denied it.

"I had felt very bad about the side effects, and when

the teacher

entered

the virtual class he began to insinuate that I did not 'want to do the work'

, that I was' wasting my time 'and that' I decided not to do the work ', but my partner started talking about Hurricane Grace, in a topic out of context, and

he called me' the partner ', and I said:' I'm not your partner, I'm your partner '".

Andrea assured that she had been asking students to respect their pronouns for three semesters to avoid acts of

"discrimination and invisibility" towards their person

.

And that led to her collapse.

"It has been a mountain of sensations, although not all have been negative."

"I had a mental-breakdown at that time.

Studying when you are a non-binary person is very complicated because you have to face a lot of discrimination, and

being spoken to with a pronoun that is not yours," he

told the site.

"Also in my Zoom presentation, as you can see in the video, I have the pronouns that I use, and I try to be as open with my classmates,

but it turns out to be difficult when after three semesters similar acts have taken place,

and that's what happened ...

I was very ill

.

I felt discriminated against, and made invisible, "he

said.

It is worth mentioning that Max, the student who called her classmate,

also posted another video on TikTok openly apologizing

and where he asked to stop the harassment against Andra.

"I was very ill. I felt discriminated against, and made invisible."

As

Escamilla

explained

, he does not regret what happened: "It

has been a mountain of sensations, although not all have been negative.

I am not ashamed of what I did, my emotions simply came out,

I do not feel bad, because at the end of the day it won't affect me. "

For his part, Escamilla asked the influencers who have published the video

to stop their hate speech and invisibility towards the LGBT community.

"

The truth bothers me a lot, not because of me, but because of the image they are giving to the community world, the influencers are making fun of us as if we were a joke

, as if what we feel was a joke, no one should make fun of the community LGBTQ + ”, he declared in the interview.

"These influencers

are affecting other little people,

because they are not going to affect me, but what they are doing is not correct."

In turn, he declared that he is analyzing taking the case to justice because some users try to access their personal data.

"I was filled in on all my networks with teasing, and I had to basically take action, because I have read transphobic comments."

Max's version

Faced with the enormous commotion that the video generated,

Max Carvajal

, the student who offended the young woman, gave his opinion about what happened in the class.

"Believe me it was with zero intentions to offend her, it was not with intentions to make her feel bad."

"

We had been talking for 20 minutes about the extension of a task, and it became excessive

(the time). Among all the arguments they gave to the teachers, one of them was Andra's… in a few words I got involved

, I tried to help the teachers to solve the problem

, and among all that I said, I missed mentioning Andra's argument referring to me as a partner, "said the student.

"Believe me it was with zero intentions to offend her,

it was not with intentions to make her feel bad, I honestly like you did not know how to respond

to this type of reaction, I tried to respond the best I could, sincerely I am not someone who has a lot of instruction on inclusion issues,

on issues of all this gender, but I tried to do the best I could ”
