The ongoing "Paralympic Games" is called "Paralympic Games" in Hong Kong. Some people think it contains derogatory meaning and disrespect persons with disabilities; appropriate.
Such controversy shows that people are increasingly concerned about the issue of equal rights.
But is this enough?
The problems that people with disabilities have to face go far beyond how the games should be named.
In addition to their own disabilities, they have to face many greater and far-reaching challenges that this brings.
To make society harmonious, it is necessary for different stakeholders to truly integrate into society.
Therefore, what is really worth pondering is whether various policies truthfully respond to the needs of the disabled, whether the rights and interests of the disabled are protected, and whether the various protections are sufficient for them to meet the challenges they face.
The Paralympics make all parties concerned about the disabled, which is indeed gratifying, but after the Paralympics, they must continue to pay attention to and solve the various problems they face...
People with disabilities need different levels of assistance in different situations in their lives, but disability barriers should not be a restriction for people with disabilities to participate in society.
