Reaffirming his choice of a level 2 protocol (out of 4), Jean-Michel Blanquer stressed that
"there was no reason to postpone the start of the school year"
in France, while the West Indian students and some Guyanese students will not resume finally classes only on September 13th.
"Postponing the start of the school year is a measure that should only be taken in extreme cases,"
he insisted.

Jean-Michel Blanquer recalled the importance of barrier gestures, of the “test-alert-protect” strategy and of the vaccination of students over 12 as well as staff.

“78% of teachers have completed their vaccination schedule.
11% will receive a second injection.
