Russia recorded on Thursday August 26 a new record of daily deaths due to Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, vaccination remaining sluggish and containment measures absent despite the wave of the Delta variant.

According to official government figures, 820 people have died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
The last record in Russia was August 14 with 819 deaths.
