August 29 is International Gamer's Day and, according to a study by Accenture, the number of gamers worldwide grew to 2.7 billion during the pandemic, of which 48% play on a computer and the figure is expected to reach 400 million by the end of 2023.
So that you can get started in the world of PC gaming or improve the configuration you already have at home, Intel created a guide with tips.
These are their recommendations:
Choose the equipment that suits your needs
What kind of games would you like?
This will give you an idea about the characteristics that your team must meet.
Then you must think if you are looking for mobility, to choose a laptop, or a desktop computer that you can customize.
Research the components
Familiarizing yourself with the processor, RAM, motherboard and storage capacity is key to choosing a computer.
Unlike consoles, PC games have different requirements and some are more demanding than others and knowing what components your computer has will help you to know if you can run video games and in what quality you should do it so that they run better.

Monitors with low response time
If you want to have a second monitor for gaming, you must consider factors such as response time, which is how long it takes for a pixel to change color and is measured in milliseconds, and the refresh rate, which is the number of times a monitor updates the image in one second and is measured in Hertz (Hz).
Experts recommend that the response time does not exceed 4ms and is preferably 1ms for real-time games with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Choose the right accessories
Choosing a gaming mouse that has an accurate, reliable sensor and a good response time is key to gaining an edge in gaming.
Remember to consider ergonomics for long gaming sessions.
A membrane, mechanical or hybrid keyboard will also be important, depending on the use you want to give it, as well as the space you have and your budget.
To have a more immersive experience it is necessary to use good headphones with a microphone.
Choose based on sound quality, comfort, noise cancellation, and connectivity.
