Live broadcast from Slichot outside Soroka Hospital
Hundreds of people gather tonight (Friday) outside Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva for a pardon rally for soldier Barel Hadaria Shmueli, who was fatally wounded by Palestinian demonstrators during clashes on the Gaza Strip border last weekend.
"It hurts me for what happened to the soldier, it is exciting to see the public's response to reach Slichot," said Shalom Lavie, who arrived at Slichot at the hospital.
"I do not know the family but I felt the need to come here."

Barel's family members asked the public to continue praying for his safety.
"I want to thank all the people of Israel who come here, and also those who pray for his safety," said Barel's brother, Udi.
Barel, 21, from Be'er Ya'akov, was evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva after the injury, and is hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
His life is still in danger.
