Jabion Hamlet signed with Bnei Herzliya Israel today

As first reported in "Israel Today", Bnei Herzliya has signed American guard Jabion Hamlet (23, 1.93 m) for the upcoming season with the team's option for another season.

Hamlet is a graduate of the North Texas College (Division 1), averaging 15.6 points (37.7% for 3), 4.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds last season, is one of the most decorated players in college history as he led it to a double conference championship. Hamlet is considered the best player in the conference in the last two years, he was selected as the player of the season in 2020, for the top five in the 2020/2021 season, and was nominated for the draft last summer but after not being selected in the draft decided to go to Europe when Bnei Herzliya will be his first stop.

"If it takes him some time, he will integrate with us well. He completes a young, energetic, and hungry staff of players who come to prove themselves and give of themselves for the team and what is left now is to connect the business to a winning team."

The team's coach, Oren Aharoni: "We were looking for another player who could give us a little more depth and creativity in the guard positions and I believe Hamlet can fill the role well. He is a young player, we will have to work with him and help him develop but that is exactly part of what we aim for in Herzliya."

With Hamlet joining the team, Bnei Herzliya completes its squad for the 2021/22 season.

Hamlet joins foreigners Chinano Onoako, Andy Van Velit, Sha'amarkus Kennedy, Courtney Fortson and Israelis Sean Dawson, Yair Kravitz, Dori Sahar, Sandy Cohen, Dor Anavi, Noam Weinberg, Ido Fogel and Omri Kuperman.
