Two motorcycle accidents occurred on the winding mountain route within a good three hours.
Kochel am See - Only one driver was involved in the first motorcycle accident: A 25-year-old from Rosenheim fell on Wednesday, August 25, around 4 p.m. on his Honda motorcycle while driving up the Kesselberg in a right-hand bend.
According to the police's press report, the decisive factor for the fall was that the Rosenheimer had not adjusted his speed accordingly to the road conditions.
The young man was slightly injured, but was still able to go to the doctor on his own.
The resulting material damage to the motorcycle amounts to around 2500 euros.
Kesselberg: Austrian loses control of his bike in a right turn
A few hours later, however, the second motorcycle accident did not go quite so lightly: At around 7.15 p.m. on the same day, a 24-year-old man from Austria drove his Yamaha bike up the Kesselberg from Kochel in the direction of Urfeld. In a right turn he lost control of his vehicle and slid into the opposite lane. There he collided with an 18-year-old from Buchelohe (Ostallgäu). He was riding a Honda motorcycle and also fell in the crash. In the accident, the Honda driver sustained moderate injuries. He was taken to the Murnau Accident Clinic by ambulance. The 24-year-old Austrian was uninjured. Both motorcycles were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away.The property damage to both vehicles is estimated at around 8,000 euros.
