The city has revised its leisure guide.

The third edition of “Stories and Faces of a City on the River” tells many stories from the past and present.

Like Julie Mayr, the landlady of Marthabräus during the war.

Or Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian, the youngest son of the monastery founder.

Fürstenfeldbruck - At the presentation in the museum, actor Alexander Schmiedel slipped into the roles of Ferdinand and Oskar von Miller, who otherwise took part in city tours in historical roles.

He talked about their inventions - the Schöngeising power plant and the Bavaria in Munich.

This can also be found in the leisure guide.

The magazine is intended to show citizens what Bruck has to offer.

The city council sat down and submitted ideas.

And also the journalist and passionate leisure cyclist Angelika Knop was very committed to the guide.

The amper plays an important role. “We wanted the river to be the focus,” explains Claudia Metzner, the city's tourism officer. The booklet consists of three main parts: “Past and present”, “Body and soul”, in which beer gardens, markets and inns are presented, and “Tours and information”. For the first time, tours have been put together that point out what is worth seeing in the area. There are a total of seven tours - including a technology tour, a family fun tour and a villa tour. But serious issues are also raised. The “Terror and Remembrance” tour takes you past the War Memorial Fountain, the Death March Memorial and the Olympic Assassination Memorial. For all tours there are tips on what to see and where to stop for refreshments. There are also bike paths and swimming spots to discover around Fürstenfeldbruck.

A total of 8,000 copies were printed, which are also to be distributed in Munich and Augsburg. “The aim is to attract as many people as possible, including those from outside, and to show them how nice it is to be with us,” says Metzner. The booklets are available in many public places in the district, for example in the monastery shop, at the information point in the town hall and in the city library. The tours are also available online at https://regio.outdooractive.com/oar-fuerstenfeldbruck/de/. ANTONIA PLAMANN
