Nesselwang - A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries on Wednesday after he went off the road due to a driving error.
According to the police, the man was traveling with his brand new machine between Reichenbach and Buronlift in the direction of Wertach when he overtook another motorcyclist in a long right-hand bend in front of the Buronlift.
The 53-year-old lost control of his machine and came off the road to the left.
In the meadow he drove 80 meters further and hit a stone and a wooden railing of a stream.
Motorcycle is torn in two
The force of the impact tore the machine in two and lay in ruins.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the machine and was seriously injured in the ditch ten meters further on.
Several passers-by, including a paramedic, immediately provided first aid.
A helicopter took the motorcyclist to an accident clinic.
The police rule out third-party negligence as the cause of the accident.
The officials are currently assuming a driving error.
The total damage is approx. 15,000 euros.
The Pfronten police took over the further investigations into the course of the accident.
