(CNN Spanish) -
Former Mexican presidential candidate in 2018 Ricardo Anaya rejected via Twitter a statement from the attorney general's office on alleged bribery.
The Prosecutor's Office reported this Wednesday that it has information that allows it to ensure that Ricardo Anaya would have received money from the former director of Mexican oil Emilio Lozoya in exchange for voting in favor of the energy reform in 2014.
Former presidential candidate Ricardo Anaya announces that he is leaving Mexico because the government allegedly "wants to put him in jail"
In a statement, the Attorney General's Office of Mexico said that the information it has against Anaya is enough for the politician of the opposition national action party to appear before a judge and answer for the alleged criminal acts that they would have had as their objective, and I quote, deliver Mexico's oil assets to foreign interests and companies.
In her tweet, Anaya added that her vote in favor of the energy reform was eight months before the alleged delivery of money in her favor.
Last week, Anaya published a video in which he said that he would leave Mexico for a season because the prosecution would initiate a process against him after alleged statements by the former director of Pemex before the prosecution in August 2020.
And after the popular consultation on former officials in Mexico, what's next?
This says an expert
The statement from the Prosecutor's Office indicates that Emilio Lozoya in a 2020 complaint indicated that he received "superior" instructions, without giving further details, to deliver the equivalent of about 335 thousand dollars to Ricardo Anaya.

This is something that Ricardo Anaya denies and claims that he will prove his innocence.
CNN has contacted Emilio Lozoya's legal team to obtain comments on the alleged statements he would have made before the Mexican Prosecutor's Office, without obtaining a response until this Wednesday.
