The weather and the pandemic did not make it easy for the organizers of the Dorfen cultural summer.

Isen / Dorfen - Only a few events have been sold out so far, concerts and cabaret evenings had to be postponed due to thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Stefan Panhauser (39) from Isen, responsible for the music events, would like to see a large audience for the last concerts in the Tonwerk, which will defy the autumn temperatures and the increasing incidence.

Mr. Panhauser, did this cultural summer fall into the water in the truest sense of the word?

I wouldn't put it that drastically.

We had to postpone one or the other appearance due to storms, but we brought great artists to the Tonwerk stage.

The atmosphere was almost always great.

Of course, I would have liked more people to come.

Only a few events were sold out.

Helmut Renger from the Landshut Concert Office and I have put together a total of 19 events.

However, only three of them were sold out.

That's a poor rate.

Music is currently doing better than cabaret.

I think it's because the target audience at the cabaret shows is older.

They are more afraid of being infected than young people who can cope better with bad weather conditions.

Wasn't there an oversupply of similar cultural events in the region?

That may be added.

Whether in the Jakobmayer or in the Erding town hall, and then the Tonwerk - I think a lot of people just couldn't decide where they wanted to go.

And after the long break, one or the other may have become lazy.

This is exactly why it is so important that the culture takes off again.

Jakobmayer and Tonwerk - did they compete this summer?

I wouldn't call it competition.

More like a competitor.

There are often several providers, such as the bakers or butchers.

And we have open-air events in the program - Jakobmayer is active indoors.

What was going well?

Martin Frank, for example, was sold out, as was Harry G. The Erdinger band DeSchoWieda will make a guest appearance on September 2nd and have a clear home advantage - we will be almost sold out here too.

So it was easier for the established artists?

Our cultural program lives from the mix.

Lesser known artists were and are not as popular as the established ones.

But I didn't want to be too mainstream when choosing the performers either.

The artists were happy to be able to perform again after the long forced break.

Yes.

Frank-Markus Barwasser aka Erwin Pelzig was so grateful to be back on stage that he even kneeled in front of the audience.

Has the cultural summer actually paid off for you?

There are government aid programs that cover a lot.

It's not just the artists who have to be paid and who are now mostly dependent on the fee, the technicians are also involved.

Some events are already tightly calculated.

If 200 visitors come, I tell myself that it will somehow work out - there is a total of 400 spectators in the Tonwerk.

Have you really gambled yourself away?

Yes, at the event with Cassandra Steen.

The concert had to be postponed, on the second date there was a strong thunderstorm shortly before the performance.

Then only a few visitors dared to go to the Tonwerk.

Despite the adversity, the concert was good, and Cassandra cast a spell over the audience with her special voice and her sympathetic manner.

Can I easily return the cards in the event of failure or misplacement?

Yes - as long as you order them directly from Tonwerk or buy them from Dorfener Anzeiger.

It is different if the advance booking is made through online service providers, where ticket reverse processing is often much more difficult.

The incidence is rising again, the 3G rule applies - what does this mean for the upcoming events?

The events are outdoors, so no 3G proof is required.

It's like when people go to the beer garden.

Many visitors are unsettled, but of course we have a hygiene concept.

And we have seats at a distance.

But now early autumn is just around the corner.

The evenings will be cooler, so bring blankets and wrap yourself up - but please don't be put off by the weather and still come to the Tonwerk for the last events.

The artists and I look forward to every visitor.

We need the culture, and now the culture needs us all

The interview was conducted by Michaele Heske.

The following events are still on the Tonwerk's program:

Friday, August 27th,

Django 3000

Saturday, August 28th,

Simon Pearce

(Comedy);

Sunday, August 29th,
