Nuremberg - As in an action film, a 34-year-old with a pistol at the ready moved through Nuremberg on Thursday night *.

The man threatened several passers-by and then pointed the gun at police officers.

Robber moves through Nuremberg: with a pistol, butts demanded

The 34-year-old's raid began around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday night.

First, he met a 38-year-old woman and her 45-year-old companion on Ludwigstrasse, writes the Middle Franconia police in a police report.

The man wanted to snort a cigarette from them.

When the two of them refused to comply, he drew a pistol and waved it in front of their faces.

He then got his cigarette and continued on his way towards Ottostraße.

There he met a previously unknown victim.

The 34-year-old is said to have pursued the unknown person and also threatened them with the gun.

But the stranger managed to shake off his pursuer.

The man then tried to gain access to a bar on Ottostrasse.

However, the guests and the staff were warned in good time and were able to lock the door in good time.

After a few attempts to get into the bar, the 34-year-old gave up.

Robber aims gun at police officer

In the meantime, a police patrol became aware of the man who had been wanted in the meantime. When they spoke to the suspect, he drew his pistol again and threatened the officers with it. They remained calm and threatened the 34-year-old with their weapons. The man lost his courage and put down his pistol. He could be arrested without resistance. Upon closer inspection of the weapon, it turned out that it was a deceptively real-looking soft-air pistol.

Real or not - the Nuremberg Criminal Police are now investigating the man on suspicion of serious robbery. The Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor's office ordered the 34-year-old to face an investigative judge, who then has to decide on an application for detention. Meanwhile, the police are looking for the unknown victim who escaped. The person is asked to contact the Central Franconian Criminal Police Service on (0911) 21 12 33 33 as a matter of urgency.
