SFR offers a fiber subscription, including a PlayStation 5

The operator is launching a flash operation with Sony to boost its sales of fiber subscriptions by including a PS 5.

An internet box and a PlayStation 5!

After laptops and televisions sold with a subsidy, SFR is opening a new chapter: the subsidized video game console.

Of course, to take advantage of it, you have to subscribe to a fixed offer from the operator and be a new customer, but the proposal is sufficiently original to attract the attention of video game enthusiasts, especially since it is still very difficult to obtain the console from Sony whose success is undeniable.

Please note, the offer is valid from Friday, August 27 in the morning.

The telecoms operator offers, for three days (or while stocks last) an offer with PS5 for its new fiber customers.

The operator explains to Le Figaro that he has a reserve of devices available allowing him to mount this operation.

A 24-month commitment

In detail, the PlayStation 5, with 4K Blu-ray player and two Dual Sense controllers included is offered at 149 euros plus 8 euros per month for 24 months for the subscription to a Power Box 8 offer. , the most expensive at SFR, at 32 euros per month the first year then 50 the second.

But it is also the one that allows to benefit from the most advantageous price for the PS5, that is to say 341 euros, instead of the recommended price of 569.98 euros.

Indeed, other subscriptions are eligible for the offer, but in this case, the sums to pay to acquire the console are higher.

SFR also offers the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, that is to say without a disk drive, from 49 euros plus 8 euros per month for 24 months, always on condition of subscribing to the Power Box 8 subscription.

Given the few PS5 available on the market - Sony is struggling to cope with global demand for its console - is cautious about the duration of the commercial offer.

But it is intended "to be perpetuated": the operator could renew it, in the form of flash sales, as soon as he has the necessary devices to do so.

Or maintain it if the flow of supplies from the Japanese brand stabilizes.

Fiber battle

This operation bears witness to the intense battle being waged by telecom operators to continue to attract new customers for their fixed-service offers. The deployment of fiber brings new challenges for the sector, but it also offers consumers access to new uses.

The latter are not mistaken and massively adopt the fiber. At Bouygues Telecom - which published its results for the second quarter on Thursday - more than 45% of its fixed subscribers have subscribed to fiber. The proportion was only 30% last year. The switch, with more subscribers to fiber than to ADSL should be done quickly with this operator. Bouygues Telecom has a smaller footprint than its rivals in ADSL but is able to offer fiber to more than 20 million homes. Being the one with the fewest ADSL customers, it should also be the first to have, in proportion, the most fiber subscribers!
