Most of the summer work sites end on Sunday evening, August 29. But by then, traffic, especially on RER A, B and C, s

Finally the end of the tunnel.

If all goes as planned, most of the work in progress on the Île-de-France rail network must end this weekend, with a return to normal on Monday, August 30 in the morning.

This year, the program was extensive, on the RER A, the RER B and metro line 6 in particular.

Heavy operations (change of rails, ballast, renovation of aqueducts) necessitated the interruption of traffic for nearly two months.

Saturday and Sunday, travelers will still have to deal with disrupted sections on the RER A and RER C. Good news: traffic resumes Saturday between Massy and Baconnets on the RER B as well as between Montparnasse and Trocadéro on line 6.

RER A: last summer cut

This weekend, for the last time in the summer, traffic is completely interrupted between Auber and Nanterre University, between Auber and Cergy-le-Haut and between Auber and Poissy.

A replacement bus service is in place between La Défense and Nanterre University.

Line L trains run between Paris Saint-Lazare and Poissy / Cergy le Haut.

RER B: Reopening of the link between Massy and Les Baconnets from Saturday

Due to the deadly land subsidence on July 25 in Massy, travelers had to take buses between Massy and Baconnets. The "galley" of crowded substitute buses ends on Saturday. The RATP announces that "traffic will resume on Saturday morning between these stations, and therefore the entire RER B". The FNAUT-IDF user association is however worried about the resumption on Monday, estimating that "there will not be a normal offer from Monday 30 because there are not enough operational trains, of as much as the new service to the south requires more ”. Contacted, the RATP wants to be reassuring, and promises a service with 16 trains per hour at peak hours morning and evening from Monday. “A lot of maintenance work was done to deal with the trains that could no longer get to the Massy workshop. We have redeployed the RER B teams to the A workshops, particularly in Sucy-en-Brie, which is completely unusual. "

RER C: traffic still interrupted between Massy-Palaiseau and Pont-de-Rungis

On the SNCF side, the impact of the Massy accident requires more time.

“Backfill work is in progress and requires the interruption of traffic between Massy-Palaiseau and Pont-de-Rungis” until Friday, September 3.
