A number of police guarding the Capitol Building in the US capital, Washington, filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump, against the backdrop of the storming of pro-demonstrators in the building last January.
The Associated Press reported that the lawsuit filed in federal court in Washington states that Trump "cooperated with white extremists, violent extremist groups, and his campaign supporters to violate the law and commit acts of terrorism in an illegal attempt to remain in power."
It also indicates that the actions of Trump and his allies led to a violent siege of the Capitol, which resulted in the injury of dozens of policemen, disrupted the ratification session for Democrat Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election, and prompted lawmakers to flee for their lives.
