No matter where you are politically - the last few years have been exciting in the capital.
The first red-red-green state government under the leadership of the SPD, an alliance of three roughly similarly sized partners, was supposed to make leftist dreams come true in Berlin.
But the most important project failed: the rent cover.
The question is: what's next?
Will the SPD, the Greens and the Left continue their cooperation after the parliamentary elections on September 26th?
You can put a big question mark behind it.
And that although the three parties still have a solid majority in the polls.
Franziska Giffey, the top candidate of the SPD, is - unlike the previous Governing Mayor Michael Müller - in any case not a downright left-wing social democrat.
On the contrary, Giffey is currently annoying the Greens and the Left with conservative positions on a regular basis.
It is a heated election campaign - also between the current governing parties.
It is about controversial topics, such as the expropriation of real estate companies or the question of whether Berlin's inner city should be largely car-free in the future.
Test 38 theses
Around 2.4 million Berliners are called to the state election.
34 parties compete.
With the Wahl-O-Mat from SPIEGEL as well as the Federal Agency for Civic Education / bpb and the Berlin State Agency for Civic Education, you can test which of the parties is most likely to represent your political views.
Free local transport, quotas for women, climate neutrality - you can position yourself on a total of 38 theses, with a click you can agree, reject or approve.
At the end of the day, you can also weight the answers if a topic is particularly important to you.
The Wahl-O-Mat then shows which parties are closest to your position.
Take the test and compare your points of view with the answers of the parties.
