- 182 apprentices start their apprenticeship year beginning on September 1st in a craft business in the district of Freising.
Last year the Chamber of Crafts also registered 182 new training contracts at the same time.
The craft in the region remains an important trainer: in 2020, the proportion of school leavers learning a craft occupation was 27 percent.
“Our craft businesses offer all interested young people prospects in one of around 130 apprenticeships.
We are pleased that many apprentices are starting their careers with the craft again, ”emphasizes district master craftsman Martin Reiter.
“The qualified offspring ensures the continued existence of the companies in the medium and long term and thus the economic diversity in the region.
Well-trained craftsmen and women will play an important role in solving major societal challenges, such as climate protection, ”adds Chamber President Franz Xaver Peteranderl.
The "Secure training places" program, which has been improved by the federal government, creates additional incentives to create apprenticeships, continues Peteranderl.
Foundation stone for further career steps
After a year with almost no training fairs and career orientation events, individual advice for young people is more important than ever. The Chamber of Crafts, guilds and professional associations are on hand to provide advice to schoolchildren and parents. Reiter and Peteranderl are expecting a strong follow-up placement in autumn this year in particular: "Apprenticeship contracts can be concluded long after the start of the training year," both assure.
The Chamber President sums up: “A completed apprenticeship in the craft lays the foundation for further career steps up to a Bachelor Professional or Master Professional.
You can become self-employed at an early age or start a course of study with an apprenticeship and subsequent professional experience or the master craftsman's examination. ”Most of the apprenticeship contracts in the handicrafts in the district this year have so far been concluded in the professions of automotive mechatronics technician, electronics technician and SHK system mechanic.
