Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that the acceptable negotiations on the nuclear agreement for Iran are the ones that have tangible and practical results and preserve the rights and interests of the Iranian people.
Abdollahian said during a telephone conversation today with the Commissioner for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union Josep Borrell: that Tehran is "committed to dialogue and constructive interaction within the framework of balanced diplomacy."
Abdullahian explained that the law approved by the Iranian Shura Council on nuclear issues is binding on the Iranian government, stressing that verifying the commitment of the other parties to their commitments in the nuclear agreement is essential in any negotiations.
On the situation in Afghanistan, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that the only solution is to form an inclusive government that includes all sects, pointing out that the Afghan people must decide for themselves the future of their country.
In turn, Borrell congratulated Abdullahian on his appointment as foreign minister and announced the readiness of the European Union to expand its cooperation with Iran.
Borrell indicated that the EU is waiting for Tehran to announce the date of the next Vienna meeting regarding negotiations on the return of the United States to the agreement.
Borrell considered that the developments in Afghanistan represent a new challenge for the region and the world, stressing the need for serious cooperation among all countries to solve the Afghan refugee problem.
