The Citizens' Association on the Lech currently has around 600 members and held its annual meeting in the Auerberghalle in Bernbeuren.

Since no meeting could take place in the previous year due to Corona, this year, in addition to new elections, two discharges for the years 2019 and 2020 were on the program.

Bernbeuren

- The chairman Xaver Wörle even reported an increase to 3268 hours compared to 2019 with 2981 helper hours in the "Corona year 2020".

Above all, the recipients of the freshly cooked food every day and the help with trained helpers in the relief area continue to increase.

But also the driving services and the help around the house and garden were requested, if the legal regulations allowed it.

Wörle thanked Siegfried Dippmann, who organized the weekly collection for the association from the "Füssener Tafel" and the delivery to the members of the citizens' association who are authorized to eat.

The agreement with Füssen provides that people from the three member communities in the Weilheim-Schongau district can easily receive goods.

Last year there was little opportunity for social events, but since July the joint lunch "60 plus" has been taking place every Wednesday at Gasthof Holler in Lechbruck, which between ten and 20 senior citizens regularly take part.

In general, Wörle thanked all the helpers, organizers and donors, the “Hochbergle” restaurant for the reliable and continuous food delivery and the Lechbruck community.

The fact that the citizens' association is provided with an office in the middle of the four municipalities of Bernbeuren, Lechbruck, Steingaden and Prem and that the other rooms can also be used for meetings or training courses helps the association a lot.

Wörle also praised the always good cooperation with the two responsible district offices Ostallgäu and Weilheim-Schongau.

As reported, the number of members is increasing from year to year, but it is not always possible to meet all inquiries. We are looking for more helpers, for example, to help out with lunch or to help around the house. Since funding applications that had been submitted for a long time have now been approved, the year-end results were positive, whereby the citizens' association would reach its limits without grants and donations. As the cash auditor, Helmut Angl confirmed the proper cash management and proposed to the meeting that the actions of the board of directors be discharged, which was granted unanimously.

The new elections produced the following result: Xaver Wörle from Steingaden remains chairman, Josef Köpf from Bernbeuren was elected as his deputy.

Gerda Steininger from Steingaden will continue to take care of the finances, while Gabriele Walters took over the office of secretary from Irene Balzarek, who in future will sit on the board with Paul Walters and Enno Bremermann (new) as assessors for the Lechbruck community.

Irmgard Hipp and now Hans Echtler were appointed as representatives for Bernbeuren.

In addition, Regina Carbone for Steingaden and Jürgen Kuhns for Prem were confirmed again for two years.

Helmut Angl and Kathrin Zillenbiehler made themselves available for the cash check.
