The death toll from a suicide bombing outside Kabul, Afghanistan, has risen to at least 90, city officials said Friday morning.

Of the dead identified, at least 72 are civilians and 13 are American soldiers.

Of the Afghan civilians, about 28 are Taliban fighters.

The two blasts and shootings - for which an Islamic State (ISIS) branch, ISIS-K, claimed responsibility - have shaken the region, while many civilians are seeking to leave the country occupied by the Taliban.

Prior to the attack, the United States warned its citizens not to enter the area due to warnings of possible terrorist incidents.

Now, in the United States, it is estimated that further explosions may follow.

US President Joe Biden has ordered the Pentagon to attack the local terrorist organization.

"We will not be forgiven. We will not be forgotten. We will hunt you down and make you pay," Biden said in a statement issued by the White House.

General Frank McKenzie, commander of the United States Central Command, said U.S. forces had warnings of further ISIS attacks, including rockets or other bombs the organization could launch at Kabul airport.

"We are doing everything we can to be ready," he said, adding that the U.S. military shares some intelligence with the Taliban, and that it believes the country's ruling forces have "thwarted several attacks."

All the foreign forces stationed in the country plan to finish evacuating the embassies and civilians by the end of August, in four days.

1,500 American citizens are still in the country, as are hundreds of Britons and Germans.
