Make one out of two: This is the motto for the coming week.

Then the last two days of operation are due in the branch of the district vaccination center in Murnau.

District

- On this Sunday as well as on Tuesday, August 31st, syringes will be given again in the Murnau vaccination center.

Then it's over.

As a result, the facility at the Alpsitz wave pool - in addition to the general practitioners - again takes on the task of providing the district citizens with corona vaccines.

The last word there was that the container village would close at the end of September.

In the meantime, however, there is new information available to the district office.

"From the district day we learned that the center will remain in a reduced form until April 30, 2022," emphasizes Stephan Scharf, spokesman for the district authority.

In Murnauer, the gates are closing on the ground floor of the culture and conference center.

"We already have 38 registrations for Tuesday," reveals Scharf.

It is definitely the last vaccinations on site.

There is simply no demand for another company.

Little by little, the rush has recently decreased.

If one can speak of a rush at all.

“It could have gone better,” Scharf admits, looking at the numbers.

A total of 2378 vaccinations were carried out over a total of 35 days (1076 first and 1087 second vaccinations).

At the beginning of May, the citizens of the northern district were still busy using the facility.

The employees administered up to 145 initial vaccinations daily in the opening week from May 8th.

That was it already.

The numbers fell steadily except for a few outliers.

In mid-July, the offer was initially reduced to three, later two days a week.

At last the numbers bobbed around in the basement.

Sometimes there were only 13 visitors a day.

Every single person vaccinated was worth opening the ward.

Christian Scheuerer

The reasons are manifold. Some have had themselves vaccinated beforehand or have gone to the family doctor. Larger companies also offered opportunities for their employees. But the need does not seem to have been as enormous as initially feared, among others, by the mayors of the northern district. As is well known, they had asked for a branch in Murnau in several letters. But, for example, Christian Scheuerer, town hall chief in Ohlstadt, sees a success in the action despite the now weak numbers. "Every single person vaccinated was worth it to have opened the station." And considering the district-wide vaccination average of only 60 percent, the 2378 are "not so bad. It has already paid off. "

The citizens of the Staffelsee region and in the northern Loisach Valley do not need to feel left alone in the near future either. Finally, doctors in private practice continue to vaccinate. And there is still the way to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There, the district day surprised those responsible with the announcement that the centers would be kept open until spring 2022. "Much will certainly depend on the assumption of costs by the Free State," emphasizes official spokesman Scharf. It appears from the letter that the reimbursement is in prospect. However, it still needs to be examined.

The Garmisch-Partenkirchen district is not too expensive for the Free State anyway.

"Other circles have rented significantly larger infrastructure or entire halls," emphasizes Scharf.

"At first we were laughed at for our container solution, but now it is very practical because it is also adapted to our needs."

100 to 150 vaccinations per day - the facilities should be reduced to this target.

“I can't say anything about whether we're going to downsize our center.” There will be talks on this at the beginning of September.

Also about how things will continue in principle.

Mobile vaccination teams and on-site campaigns should also be part of the offer in the coming weeks and months.

Scharf makes no secret of this.

Recently, the numbers in Garmisch-Partenkirchen have also picked up again.

In the week up to August 22nd, those responsible registered 708 vaccinations, this week it is 418 after four days. Scharf does not want to comment on whether this is a trend.

"This is the glass ball area again, we'll see."

Last vaccination days in Murnau

The branch of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen vaccination center in the Murnau culture and conference center is still open this Sunday and Tuesday, August 31, between 2.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.
