On the afternoon of April 30 in the Abbas' house in Novellara there would be a meeting attended by uncle Danish Hasnain and another relative in which it would be discussed how to make Saman's body disappear, dismembering it. It emerged from the probative incident of the 18-year-old's minor brother, who disappeared from that very evening, cited by the order of the Bologna Review court. Referring to a participant in the meeting, the brother says: "He said: I make small pieces and if you want to take me to Guastalla too, we throw them there, because this is not good".
The motive for the murder of Saman Abbas, an 18-year-old who disappeared from Novellara on the night of April 30 after opposing an arranged marriage, "sinks in a fearful synergy between religious precepts and the dictates of local tradition (which bind members of the clan to a crude, blind and absolutely uncritical observance also of the directive of femicide) ". This is stated in the order of the review court which confirmed the prison for cousin Ikram Ijaz, the only suspect arrested.
Ikram Ijaz, cousin of Saman Abbas and the only one arrested among the five suspects for the murder of the Pakistani woman, participated in the preparatory phase of the crime, digging the hole on April 29. Then on the night between 30 and 1 May he arrived at the Abbas' house following the perpetrator of the murder, Danish Hasnain, with his other cousin Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq who, like him, had participated in the preparatory phase. For this reason, according to the review court which rejected his appeal, "the most probable and qualified hypothesis is that" the two cousins "also participated in the material execution of the murder", giving a hand to Danish Hasnain.
