The Greens: "Prevention policy" for wind power should come to an end

Oberallgäu - The green members of the Oberallgäu district council obtained first-hand information about the success story of wind power in Wildpoldsried.

On a guided bike tour through the town, the district council members were able to see the wind power plants, biogas plant and the battery technology location of the Sonnen company in Wildpoldsried and were informed about the energy policy side of the town by the deputy mayor Günther Mögele.

The energy community is exemplary because electricity customers can actively help shape the energy transition and contribute financially.

Veronika Leiner notes, however, that all of the wind turbines on the ridge could no longer be built in this way today due to the 10-H rule currently in force in Bavaria.

"This illustrates the state government's policy of prevention," said Leiner.

The 10-H rule stipulates that a wind turbine must be at least ten times its height away from residential buildings.

Climate protection through wind power: reform necessary

Christina Mader, parliamentary group leader, expects the state government to "finally reform the unconstitutional Bavarian climate protection law" so that the energy transition can finally gain momentum.

Citizens' energy is an important step in getting residents to take advantage of wind energy.

The regional wind power plan urgently needs to be revised by the responsible mayors and district administrators and the exclusion areas reformed.

District councilor Ulrike Finkenzeller regretted that there were only seven so-called wind-minders in all of Bavaria and that only five municipalities were supported per district.

Your home community Durach, which ranks 6th, was therefore not given a chance.

"These numbers are set arbitrarily and thus categorically exclude potential municipalities from realizing wind power."

Climate protection concerns everyone and should be actively supported as a joint project by all political levels and promoted by the state government in an exemplary manner, emphasize the Greens.

The district parliamentary group sees itself here and the administration has a duty.
