Beware of fake doctors: The Freising Clinic warns against phone fraudsters who pretend to be hospital employees.
Freising
- After the police inspections in the district, the Freising Clinic is now once again urgently warning against phone fraudsters posing as clinicians. As reported, fraudsters have been active over the phone since last week, impersonating doctors at the Freising Clinic and trying to raise large amounts of money in this way. Overall, the procedure seems to be similar again and again: family members are informed by a caller who pretends to be a doctor from the Freising Clinic that, for example, the son or. the daughter is being treated as an inpatient at the Freising Clinic because of a severe corona disease. The caller then asks for a larger amount of cash to be paid for the use of a new drug as part of the clinic treatment.
The clinic has filed a criminal complaint
The Freising Clinic has in the meantime filed a criminal complaint and urgently warns citizens not to respond to such calls: "Please note that the Clinic does not contact you by phone asking for cash or jewelry to be handed over.
Should you receive a suspicious call against this background, please ask for a callback number.
Get in touch with the allegedly ill family member and contact the police immediately. ”
