The campaign for the Youth Days of the Passion Play, planned for the first time on May 7th and 8th, 2022, is aimed at young visitors between the ages of 16 and 28 from various religious communities and nationalities. 8,000 adolescents and young adults can visit the Passion Play at discounted rates. In addition to attending the performances, an extensive supporting program with introductions to the game, panel discussions and discussions with participants is planned. The aim of the youth days is to inspire younger audiences for the Passion Plays, which combine faithfulness to tradition and openness to the present.

The Oberammergau Passion Play, which according to legend goes back to a plague vow in 1633, is one of the most important cultural events in Germany. In addition to being listed in the Bavarian state directory, the Oberammergau Passion Play is also included in the nationwide directory of intangible cultural heritage. The home ministry supports home care initiatives with the regional culture funding program. The funds from the funding program can be used to fund investments in the construction and furnishing of venues for historical home theater as well as innovative events and projects in the context of home preservation. kb
