Bennett came to Washington just to get a photo Israel today

Apart from the long-awaited picture alongside the president, the prime minister does not return home with big news from Washington • Biden's statement about "additional options" with Iran is lukewarm and even less so, with no commitment to Israel • His sparse agenda during his visit also indicates a lack of real achievements

Towards the end of February 1973, Israel shot down a lobby passenger plane in Sinai, not far from the canal.

This was one of the great strategic disasters that Israel faced.

About a week or so later, Prime Minister Golda Meir arrived in the United States for a long-planned visit before the tragic event. Washington was cold and hostile. Richard Nixon. The meeting took place in spite of everything, and she received the assistance she had hoped for - the supply of a large quantity of phantom planes. Nixon only asked Israel to stop interfering in US-US relations.

Today, even in a sympathetic atmosphere, Israel does not receive anything real from US President Joe Biden. It was ridiculous to see commentators try to fish out which lukewarm statement is preferred from the exchange in the joint appearance of Biden and Bennett.

President Biden has said that if there is no return to the nuclear deal with Iran, more options will be considered.

This is a very lukewarm statement.

Not to mention that once again we are supposed to think that a return to the conciliation agreement with Iran will fulfill the hopes of all generations.

This statement cannot even be compared to the statements of President Barack Obama, who in the pressure of his meetings with Jewish leaders explicitly said that the military option is on the table.

Israel can not build anything on such a statement that has no commitment.

In this context, the Iranian response in Hebrew, which states that they see Biden's words as an illegal threat to their country, is intended to prepare the international arena for aggression against Israel.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's run to Washington at this very moment, when the United States is shrouded in an international atmosphere of defeat, is hurting Israel.

The Iranian threat is rude and signals that the Iranians are not deterred.

They did not dare to threaten even after being severely beaten in the past.

But there was another statement, on the part of Bennett, that was significant.

He said he was bringing with him from Jerusalem a new spirit, of fairness and decency.

And the commentators rightly understood this as drawing a line on the previous government headed by Netanyahu.

I do not remember a visit by a prime minister in the past that says, "We are not the previous right-wing government, we left Netanyahu's chapter behind."

Again, do not remember a prime minister who actually publicly denied his predecessor in office.

This is despite the fact that both Biden and Bennett live today in the political and strategic world created by the former Prime Minister Netanyahu himself.

The fact that Iran is at the top of the agenda and the Palestinians are barely mentioned is the result of a whole decade of struggle.

It is doubtful whether Bennett left any impression in the United States, other than the negative impression of Israeli dependence on the United States. He was not busy with an agenda of meetings with senators and members of Congress and did not meet with media captains, other than an interview with the New York Times. The reason is that he is not bringing a new spirit, he is a new kind of prime minister who has never been like him before. A person without a leadership profile. Without a portfolio in the history of the State of Israel, as each and every one of the prime ministers were. Even the worst of them. Bennett said this government is an experiment. So a prime minister who leaves no trace is part of the experiment.
