The technical teams intensified their efforts to complete the process of cleaning Jableh Beach from the fuel leaked from the Baniyas power station, which appeared in several locations, including Al-Izza Port, Dahiat Al-Majd, Al-Buhais Bay, and Al-Fakhoura near Arab Al-Malik near Baniyas.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the head of the Jableh City Council, Engineer Ahmed Qanadel, explained that the efforts of the technical teams are focused today on cleaning the Shuqaifat Beach and the Russian port, where the polluted sites are covered with sand to absorb the stains, as well as in the Al-Majd suburb, where the spot has been besieged and work is underway to suction it through mechanisms.
Qandil indicated that the treatment of pollution spots in Mina Al-Izza and Al-Fakhoura site was completed yesterday, as well as in a spot that appeared under Al-Zouzo Cafe with an area of about 50 square meters.
A work cell was formed in which the Environment Directorate, Jableh City Council, Civil Defense, Agriculture, Technical Services and Sanitation participated. Its task was to besiege and remove pollution spots caused by fuel leakage from a reservoir in Baniyas. The process of removing some spots required individual efforts and manual work due to the rocky nature of some polluted sites.
