A week and a half before Rosh Hashanah, a real air train is being prepared in Israel, which is expected to depart in the coming days from Ben-Gurion Airport to the Ukrainian city of Uman.
Last year, Breslav's followers were not allowed to reach the tomb of Rabbi Nachman Mauman, due to the corona restrictions, and quite a few of them got stuck on the Belarusian border in a desperate attempt to reach the city before the holiday, so this year there was a strong desire to reach Ukraine.
According to the outline agreed upon, the many devotees must be examined for Corona before leaving the land.
Enforcement authorities fear a wave of forgeries by followers who are verified against the virus and will refuse to stay in Israel.
In previous years, a senior official told Israel Today, there was an industry of forgery of passports by Hasidim who were willing to do anything to get to the grave of Rabbi Nachman Mauman, so there will be those who will not hesitate to forge a corona check to get there, certainly after a year of absence.
To combat the phenomenon, law enforcement agencies will take a series of measures to prevent counterfeiting.
Among other things, the corona certificates will be examined very carefully.
In addition, they warn the devotees that if fakes are indeed found this could dramatically delay the flight - something that will hurt the hundreds of passengers to Uman who are on the plane.
The senior official points out that flights may be delayed for long hours after their original departure time.
Enforcement authorities are aware that this is a move that could anger the airlines, who will suffer from the long delay, and are therefore considering the possibility of requiring followers to provide the corona test long hours before they arrive at the field.
The hope is that the very threat of delaying flights to Ukraine will be enough to make counterfeiters think twice and avoid flying, as such messages are quickly conveyed in followers' WhatsApp groups, but if fake corona credentials are found - flights will not be delayed.
In the weeks leading up to the publication of the outline, there was great uncertainty among Breslav storks about the possibility of arriving in the city of Uman ahead of Rosh Hashanah.
Admittedly, the professional bodies have repeatedly clarified that it will be possible to fly to the country in any case, but after defining most countries in the world as red, unrest began in storks.
There are quite a few followers who have already come to Uman a few weeks ago for fear that the borders will be closed.
The main concern now on the part of decision makers in Israel is ignoring the Corona guidelines.
Last year, after the confrontation on the Belarusian border, there were blatant violations of the guidelines in the form of illegal celebrations that violated the closure that prevailed in Israel at the time, and even now there are fears in Israel that they will ignore the isolation obligation when returning to the country.
